How to Train Your Pet to Wear Dog Clothes

Fashion trend for dog clothes is raging up the market today. Almost every dog owner would want to dress up their pets in those fabulous clothes for dogs. They would proudly show off their pooches to people during walks. It is rewarding for them to see their pets look dazzling with those fashionable outfits.

But the real thing is that dogs normally are not comfortable wearing those pet clothes. They need time to get used to wearing those small outfits. If your force them to put something on, they would definitely try to take themselves off from their clothing by scratching or chewing off their clothes.

The key here is to get them used to wear clothes for dogs gradually. But how will you do this?

• You can keep them from tearing their clothes off by giving them something to chew. Keep their mouth busy so they will forget that they have something on. You can give them a toy, bone or other things that will divert their attention from scratching of chewing their clothes.

• Go for the cheap dog clothes first. Because they will likely tear their clothes off, it is wise to buy something cheap. You would not have to worry about wasting much money if those cheap dog clothes were torn.

• Do not keep your dog dressed up all day at first. Do it gradually. Let him wear it for maybe ten to fifteen minutes initially then gradually increasing the time so he will get used to it. In no time, your pet will enjoy and feel natural walking with those fancy clothes. You just have to be patient.

• Buy something that is of the right fit. Too tight or too loose clothing will make them uncomfortable. The more that they will want it off from their body.

• If you want to make them look more dazzling with ribbons and bows, make sure that they are comfortable walking around with their pet clothes on.
